For lips, your summer colors were nudes, bright pinks and reds, or blushing peaches. For fall, it’s time to deepen those shades into dark reds, mauves, purples and cinnamons.

For foundations and moisturizers, swapping over from light liquids to heavier creams will help lock in more moisture for the dryer air ahead. And even when the sky looks cloudy, remember that you still need sunscreen protection year-round.

For the eyes, trade in those greys and pinks for deep cranberry or luscious blues. One of the top trends for this fall is dusty purple eyes, a deeper, matte-like look versus the summer’s traditional bright violets.

One popular trend for this fall is glitter. The trick here is that you don’t want to overdo it, so stick with glitter in just a small area and complement it with a less-bold color elsewhere. So if you’re glittering up your eyes, try a lighter shade on the lips.

Finally, while you’re upping your moisturizing game for the cool, dry air, don’t forget your hands. Use plenty of moisturizing cream daily and avoid overexposure to hot water, so wear gloves if you hand wash your dishes.
