Easy Breezy Hairstyles Perfect for Spring

February 28, 2022

With spring just days away your thoughts may be turning to deep cleaning and adding some pretty new pieces to your wardrobe. Though your hair’s been hiding under a hat these past few months, winter’s chill is almost over, and it’s time to show off a new hairstyle. Here are some easy, trendy styles to inspire your new ‘do so that you don’t end up stuck in a rut with messy buns or boring braids.

Sleek Power Pony
If traditional spring updos aren’t really your thing, this style can look at home at a formal affair or a day out with the gals. Use a smoothing spray on dry hair with a fine bristle brush to pull your hair into a high ponytail at the crown. Take a pinky width section of hair from the ponytail and wrap it around the hair tie to conceal it. Secure the ends with a bobby pin. Spray to keep down flyaways and you’ll have a sleek, sophisticated style that only took minutes.

Space Buns
You may have thought this look would soon fall by the wayside, but space buns are still very much in for spring 2022. To get this out-of-the-world hairstyle, create a middle part and tie off high pigtails on each side of your crown. Wrap each pigtail around its base to form a bun, and secure it with pins. Pull out a few wisps, and finish with hairspray to set in place.

90s Voluminous Half-Up
This blast from the past will be having a moment this spring, and the key is lots of volume. Start with a volumizing spray on damp hair. Blow-dry for tons of volume. Separate your hair from ear to crown, smooth with a boar bristle brush, and secure on top right at the crown. Conceal the hair tie as with the power pony above. Lightly tease hair from midway to root with the brush for maximum volume, and then hit the ends with a bit of texturizing spray to create piecey separation with added fullness and volume.

Bow Bun
Like messy buns, but want something a little more polished? Try a bow bun. Brush hair into a high pony, but on the last pull through, only pull your hair through halfway, leaving 4-6 inches of tails pointing toward the front of your head. Separate the buns loops in the center. Pull the tails up and over the center of the loops. Tuck into the back of the hair tie to create the center “knot.” Pin in place where needed and spray to secure.
